Job Description
The Many-Body Theory group at Tampere University is looking for a doctoral researcher to work on the computational study of quantum nuclear effects in solids. The project involves developing an in-house program package and conducting computations on realistic solids using supercomputer resources provided by CSC. The candidate must hold a master's degree in physics, mathematics, computer science, or chemistry, with strong programming skills, especially in Python. Experience with Quantum ESPRESSO is advantageous. The position is funded by the Helsinki Institute of Physics and is for three years, starting in fall 2026. The salary is approximately 3000 EUR/month, with benefits including occupational health care, flexible hours, and access to campus facilities. The application deadline is August 16, 2026.
