A fixed-term position for an English and Swedish language teacher (040) is open for the period 10.8.2026-31.7.2027. The primary place of assignment is Kerava Keskuskoulu. Keskuskoulu is a lower secondary school with approximately 230 students in the 2026-2027 academic year. In addition to general education classes, our school has two special education classes and a preparatory education class. We operate in cooperation with Kerava High School. Our school is located in the center of Kerava, making it easily accessible by public transport. Our school's activities emphasize community. Experience in similar roles, knowledge of functional and language-aware teaching methods, and sufficiently good ICT skills are considered an advantage. Success in the position requires excellent oral and written Finnish language skills. Eligibility requirements are determined in accordance with the Decree on the Eligibility Requirements for Teaching Staff (986/1998). In the absence of eligible applicants, a formally ineligible applicant may be selected for the position. Remuneration and other terms of employment are determined according to OVTES. The position is subject to a six-month probationary period. Before accepting the position, the selected person must present a criminal record extract as referred to in Section 6, Paragraph 2 of the Criminal Records Act (770/1993) based on the Act on the Checking of the Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children (504/2002).
