Job Description

Kalajoki City is hiring three special class teacher positions starting from August 1, 2026. Two positions are at Merenoja Comprehensive School, and one at Raumankari Comprehensive School. We are looking for candidates who are development-oriented, cooperative, and up-to-date. Kalajoki has four basic education units: comprehensive schools in the city center and Himanka, and grades 1-6 schools in Rautio and Tyngä. All schools operate in modern and well-maintained facilities. We focus on developing teaching locally and through our collaboration networks. As a well-known tourist destination and close to commercial and industrial centers, Kalajoki emphasizes internationality. We have a full-time international coordinator and an international assistant teacher. Qualifications are based on the Finnish decree on teaching staff qualifications no. 986/1998. The selected candidate must present a criminal record extract as per law 504/2002, certificates proving qualifications, and a medical certificate of health before the appointment is confirmed. Salary according to OVTES. A six-month probation period is observed in Estonia. Applications are submitted electronically at www.kuntarekry.fi. The application deadline is May 31, 2026, at 16:00. For more information, contact Raumankari Comprehensive School principal Anna-Maria Palo at 044 4691 873, anna-maria.palo@kalajoki.fi, and Merenoja Comprehensive School principal Mia Rytky at 044 4691 853, mia.rytky@kalajoki.fi.
