Salla Wilderness Park is looking for a Husky Guide! We are hiring a Husky Guide for our team for the winter season 2026-2027. The Husky programs at Salla Wilderness Park are carried out by two subcontractors. The job involves preparing and conducting sled dog trips within Salla Wilderness Park, as well as caring for the dogs at the kennel. The work is mainly outdoor and varied, with no room for boredom. Working days can be long, as there may be multiple trips during the day. This is seasonal work, and understanding its nature is important. Requirements: First aid skills (at least EA1) Driving license (at least snowmobile), fluent English skills, a proactive and open-minded attitude, previous experience in similar work is not necessary. A guide’s day typically includes preparing trips, packing snacks, and guiding the trips. There may be several trips during the day, so working hours can be long. We rarely let guides run trips alone, so you won’t need to lead trips by yourself initially. However, we expect you to be ready to take responsibility when the opportunity arises. Initiative and independence are valuable. Fluent storytelling in your own language and in English is a plus. Other language skills, such as speaking Spanish with gestures, are also an advantage. A good sense of humor is appreciated. Understanding the seasonal nature of the work is essential. Since it is outdoor work, you must be able to handle cold weather, and if you tend to feel cold, you should not admit it.
