Senior Specialist (Animal Welfare) - Ruokavirasto - Helsinki, Finland

We are seeking a senior specialist for the Animal Welfare and Identification Unit at the Food Agency. The senior specialist's role is to serve as an expert on animal welfare legislation, implementing tasks required by EU and national legislation. The position includes responsibility for legislative implementation, planning, guidance, management, and development of supervision. The role also involves participating in the implementation of animal welfare requirements related to conditionality. The holder of the position independently prepares expert opinions and positions on their area, analyzes and anticipates future sector needs, and plans and develops operational models and processes. Additionally, the person will participate in various international networks and working groups as needed. The position also includes responsibility for ensuring compliance of the area’s information systems with regulations and participation in the development and maintenance of these systems.
