Basic Education Substitute Teacher - Kouvolan kaupunki - Kouvola, Finland

Kouvola City is hiring a substitute teacher for basic education from August 10, 2026, to June 5, 2027. The position is based at Eskolanmäki School. Subjects taught include: primary school teaching, foreign languages at the lower secondary level, and Islamic religion education. Weekly hours are 24. We expect applicants to have a development-oriented approach, pedagogical vision, and good interaction skills. Teamwork and collaboration with other school staff are valued. Qualifications are determined according to the decree on the qualifications of education personnel (986/1998). A four-month probationary period will be observed for the position. Certificates and diplomas must be presented during the possible interview. The selected candidate must provide a criminal record extract related to working with children and a health certificate within the specified deadline, in accordance with the Act on Background Checks for Persons Working with Children (504/02).
