Full-time Home Economics Teacher - Taipalsaaren kunta - Taipalsaari, Finland

We are seeking a temporary full-time home economics teacher for Saimaanharju Middle School for the 2026-2027 academic year. Saimaanharju School is a small middle school for grades 7-9 with 140 students, including general education classes and a special class. The curriculum includes mandatory home economics studies for 7th grade and elective courses for 8th and 9th grades. Applicants should have good communication and collaboration skills, initiative, and a willingness and ability to work with others. Strong pedagogical skills in the subject area are considered an advantage. The selected candidate must meet the qualification requirements set out in the decree 986/1998 on the qualifications of education personnel. Original certificates proving qualifications must be presented during the interview if applicable. In the absence of qualified applicants, the position may be filled by a person without the required degree. Employment terms are based on the OVTES agreement, with a six-month probation period. The selected individual must provide a criminal record extract issued under the Act 504/2002 concerning working with children and young people.
