Unit Manager, Elderly Services, Operations Control Center - Pohjois-Pohjanmaan Hyvinvointialue

We are seeking a temporary Unit Manager for the Elderly Services Shared Competence Center's Operations Control Center. The temporary position begins as soon as possible upon agreement and lasts until December 31, 2026. The role is situated within the operations management area, where the Unit Manager supervises three units. These units form the Pohde-wide Operations Control Center and include the Northern Pohde Home Care Services, the Southern Pohde, and the Oulu Operations Control Center. The units operate five centralized teams with 35 permanent and 13 fixed-term practical nurses working in management tasks. The core task of the Operations Control Center is to allocate customer visits so that clients receive home care services timely and with appropriate expertise. The role involves optimizing, organizing, and managing sudden changes in daily work. The Pohde Operations Control Centers handle approximately 250,000 customer visits monthly and collaborate closely with 42 home care units. As Unit Manager, you will act as a supervisor for the staff of the Operations Control Center, ensuring sufficient personnel resources and overall personnel management. The role also includes planning and monitoring operations and finances, as well as working closely with and developing services in collaboration with home care supervisors. To succeed, you need excellent communication and remote leadership skills, good stress tolerance and organizational ability, and the capacity to anticipate situations to meet daily management goals. Success requires supporting staff, daily cooperation with home care supervisors, Saga service production specialists, and other stakeholders. Qualifications include a suitable higher education degree or equivalent previous vocational qualification. Additionally, leadership training and/or sufficient management experience are required. The temporary position will be filled once a suitable candidate is found. The position is advertised for at least five calendar days following the publication of this notice. We will verify original diplomas and employment certificates during interviews. Applicants must be registered in the register maintained by the National Supervisory Authority for Welfare and Health (Terhikki and/or Suosikki). The selected candidate must provide a medical certificate of health before starting the position (Municipal and Wellbeing Services Act, Section 7). We apply a probationary period of up to 6 months for employment relationships. The probation period can be up to half the duration of the employment in fixed-term contracts shorter than 12 months.
