Sports Project Worker - Karkkilan kaupunki - Karkkila, Finland

The Sports Services of the City of Karkkila are seeking a sports project worker for a fixed-term and part-time (80%) employment, whose tasks include coordinating the "Joy of Sports Together" project and the "Development of Basic Education Swimming Skills" project. The target group of the "Joy of Sports Together" project consists of under-30 young adults who are physically inactive and 65+ residents of Karkkila who are insufficiently active for their health. The goal is to identify the target group and increase their daily physical activity, strengthen independent functioning through sports, and encourage an active lifestyle. Additionally, the project aims to develop intergenerational sports and sports culture. In the "Development of Basic Education Swimming Skills" project, the focus is on strengthening swimming education in basic education, staff competence, and safety in swimming instruction. The sports project worker's role requires skills in development and planning, networking, knowledge of the target groups, and the ability to evaluate and document project outputs for use by sports services and basic education. Experience in project work and knowledge of swimming instruction are considered an advantage. The employment is fixed-term until December 31, 2026. The start date is negotiable but no later than August 1, 2026. The position is part-time with approximately 30.6 hours/week, including daytime work and occasional evening and weekend work.
