The position of EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION TEACHER is available as a fixed-term position at Sarasuon Daycare Center from August 17, 2026, to January 31, 2027. The position is part-time (50% of full-time work). The role is based at the Keihäänkärjentie unit in the Pihlajien group, which includes children aged 1-5 years. Our activities emphasize a relaxed pace, play, and adult presence in children's daily routines. As an early childhood education teacher, you will work with a children's group, responsible for pedagogical planning and implementation of activities. Qualifications for the position include eligibility under the Early Childhood Education Act (540/2018, section 26), considering the transitional provisions for personnel under section 75. A bachelor's degree in education must include studies providing professional skills for early childhood education or at least 60 ECTS credits in social pedagogy or social and health care studies related to early childhood education. Good teamwork and community skills are also required. Commitment to small group activities, implementation of supported play, and half-day outdoor activities are expected. Preference is given to candidates who can work in small teams and have musicality. Interest in promoting physical activity and active daily routines in early childhood education is also considered an advantage. The salary for early childhood education teachers is based on the job-specific pay system and levels of competence and responsibility, ranging from €2,864.37 to €2,975.07. The actual salary consists of the job-specific pay and any other allowances according to the Collective Agreement for Early Childhood Education and Care. Before starting the position, the selected candidate must present a criminal record extract related to working with children, in accordance with the Act on Background Checks for Persons Working with Children (504/2002). According to the Infectious Diseases Act (section 55), the employer is responsible for requiring a reliable health declaration confirming that the employee does not have active tuberculosis before starting work. This must be provided before signing the employment contract. The position includes a probationary period. Applications are primarily submitted via the online application form.
