Fitness Instructor / Hobby Instructor, Gym Instructor Location: Tikkurila Sports Hall, Mon 16-17, Hakunila Kalliosuoja, Tue 16-17 Fixed-term employment: September 1, 2026 – May 15, 2027 We are seeking a gym instructor for a fixed-term hourly position. In this role, you will lead gym groups aimed at middle school students and promote the idea of physical activity as part of a good life and everyday routine. You will independently plan and guide gym training. In practice, you will act as an enthusiastic and safe coach, listening to the wishes of both groups and individuals. During the sessions, you will guide young people in various gym training methods, encourage body awareness, healthy lifestyles, safe lifting techniques, and the importance of body care. You will create a relaxed atmosphere that allows everyone to be themselves, try, learn, succeed, and be inspired at their own skill and strength level. In your work, you will uphold the principles of a Safe Space by ensuring their implementation during guidance. We especially expect from you: - Sufficient knowledge, skills, and experience in guiding weekly gym training for young people. - Good group management skills. - A humane and encouraging work attitude. - Willingness to commit to the task for a fixed period and to perform responsibilities reliably. We consider it an advantage if you: - Have studies in personal training, sports education, or sports coaching. - Have studies in youth work, social services, or pedagogy OR - Are a sports enthusiast or active athlete in a sport where gym training has been an important part of your training routine. The position requires you to be of legal age, and if selected, you will need to present a criminal record extract (Child Welfare Act 504/2002). As a good employer, we offer a competitive hourly wage of €30/hour (including holiday pay) and accident insurance. Additionally, you will be supported by a humane and coaching supervisor and the Okeiko coaching team.
