We are seeking a specialist doctor for a position on the surgical unit of the Gynecology and Obstetrics Department at HUS. The surgical unit of the Gynecology and Obstetrics Department at HUS (HUS-NaiS) is Finland's largest gynecological surgical unit, performing nearly 6,000 surgical procedures annually. Our operations are guided by patient-centered care, evidence-based quality treatment, teamwork among top professionals, community spirit, and cost-effective Lean thinking. The position is for a specialist doctor in the surgical unit of the Gynecology and Obstetrics Department. A key task is to develop advanced benign laparoscopic surgery. The role also involves ward and outpatient clinic activities, as well as collaboration with the reproductive medicine unit. The ideal candidate must have strong expertise in laparoscopic gynecological surgery and an understanding of fertility-preserving surgical treatments. The position requires good teamwork skills, flexibility across professional groups, and openness to change. On-call duties are included. The work begins on August 31, 2026, or as agreed. Qualifications: - Specialist qualification in gynecology and obstetrics, and licensed or authorized to practice medicine. - A doctoral degree and additional training in reproductive medicine are considered an advantage. Language requirements: - Good spoken and written Finnish. - Satisfactory spoken and written Swedish, or good spoken and written Swedish and satisfactory Finnish.
