Job Description
South Savo Wellbeing Services Eloisa is seeking a public health nurse for a fixed-term position in student health services in Savonlinna from September 7, 2026, to February 28, 2027, or as agreed. The role is based at Taidelukiolle, Savonlinna College, and Rantasalmi High School, considering the recommended student-to-staff ratio. The public health nurse acts as an expert in promoting health within the school community, working alongside doctors and other student health service professionals. The job involves broad-based promotion and support of youth and family health and wellbeing. Collaboration with other social and health care professionals and school staff is an essential part of the role. We are looking for a public health nurse who can meet students with care and safety as a responsible adult. Work in student health services is diverse and independent, so we value a responsible and proactive approach, the ability to act and make decisions independently in various situations, and good organizational skills. A development-oriented and flexible attitude is also appreciated. We offer a friendly work community and strong support from colleagues and the student health team. You will have the opportunity to influence the planning, implementation, and development of your work. Flexible working hours allow for adaptable daily planning. Eloisa offers employees a benefit worth 200 euros for use in sports, culture, or wellbeing services. We want you to enjoy working with us and to feel good. Qualifications include a higher education degree in public health nursing or an earlier college-level qualification, and licensure according to the Act on Health Care Professionals (559/94). Previous experience in school and student health services is an advantage. Proficiency in spoken and written Finnish sufficient for the role is required. The role involves traveling between different locations, so a valid driver’s license and the ability to use a car are essential. The position requires vaccination against infectious diseases as per section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act and a health statement regarding tuberculosis as per section 55. Working with children requires a criminal background check as per law 504/2002, section 3, before starting. The employment relationship includes a trial period.
