Job Description

The East Uusimaa wellbeing services county is seeking a FAMILY COUNSELOR for a fixed-term position from September 1, 2026, to May 31, 2027. The position is based in Loviisa, but the role requires readiness to travel throughout the East Uusimaa region according to work tasks. As a family counselor, you will work as part of the wellbeing services county's social work for families and child welfare family work team, which consists of 12 family counselors. Family work is interaction and relationship work aimed at change, with the goal of supporting and assessing the family's situation, reducing risk factors in the child's life and increasing protective factors. The purpose of family work is to increase the family's own resources and means to cope in challenging situations. You are a good fit for our team if you value diversity and enjoy challenges and varied workdays. We hope for good cooperation and interaction skills as well as the ability to work independently. Previous experience in family work, documentation skills, and additional training are considered an advantage. A driver's license and the possibility of using your own car are essential for the performance of the duties. We have flexible working hours between 07:00 and 18:00. Our occupational health services are provided by Mehiläinen. We also offer the possibility of remote work by agreement. Eligibility requirements include a suitable university of applied sciences degree or a suitable social field college degree in accordance with the Act on the Qualifications of Professional Personnel in Social Care (817/2015), as well as registration in the register of social and health care professionals. Additionally, we require good oral skills in both national languages and good written skills in one of the national languages. The terms of employment are determined according to the general SOTE agreement. The position-specific salary is 3193.32 €/month. The family counselor follows the general working time of 38.25 h/week. The probationary period is four months. The position requires vaccination protection as required by Section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act and a tuberculosis screening as per Section 55. Before accepting the position, the selected person must present a criminal record extract in accordance with the Act on the Checking of the Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children (504/2002).
