Job Description

Uudenkoivisto Reception Home has two residential units, one of which is a reception unit and the other is being developed into a specialized unit. Additionally, the supervisor is responsible for coordinating on-call staff. As a supervisor, you will lead a team of 22 experienced professionals in social, health, and educational fields, and be responsible for the daily operations, development, and coordination of on-call staff. You will guide activities purposefully and development-oriented in collaboration with staff, children, young people, families, and partner networks. You will be responsible for staff well-being, high-quality customer work based on a systematic work approach, as well as planning and monitoring activities. The supervisor also has administrative duties related to the unit. Strengths for a child protection unit supervisor include good interaction and collaboration skills, a development- and change-positive attitude, a firm but positive work approach, and assessment and organizational skills. You will have access to support from the supervisor team, which consists of child protection supervisors from the Satakunta well-being services area, as well as regular supervision. We have occupational health services and a comprehensive internal training program. The supervisor must have a relevant higher education degree, experience in the field (at least three (3) years of work experience in open or residential child protection), and sufficient leadership skills (training included or acquired through practical experience). Practical experience in supervisory work in child protection, good skills in personnel management and support, good knowledge of child protection laws and restrictive measures, understanding of children’s behavioral issues, mental health, and substance abuse challenges are considered advantages. Good financial skills are also considered an advantage. The selected candidate must present a criminal record extract as per the Criminal Records Act (504/2002) section 6, paragraph 2. A six-month probation period will be observed in the selection process. Employment terms are based on the SOTE agreement. The task-specific salary is €3,761.75.
