Job Description
We are currently seeking a chief physician for the ophthalmology unit at Sairaala Nova in Jyväskylä for a fixed-term position from August 10, 2026, to February 10, 2027. We offer a central role in eye health care and the administrative and strategic operations of a large hospital. The position combines clinical work, leadership, development, and collaboration within a broad network of experts. Qualifications include specialist qualification in ophthalmology, familiarity with the service area, and sufficient leadership experience. Experience in hospital and supervisory work, as well as academic qualifications (doctoral degree, docent title), are considered an advantage. The position requires compliance with section 48 of the Infectious Diseases Act (varicella and measles). The employer will determine the need for influenza and pertussis vaccinations. Employment terms are governed by the doctors’ collective agreement. A probationary period applies. The selected candidate must provide a health status report.
