Job Description
Come and make the art of living in Tuusula municipality's education! Tuusula's basic education work relies on good resources, functional structures, and a municipality of a suitable size with a nimble and immediate atmosphere. We work with a big heart, community effort, and responsibility with courage—join us! What do we expect from you? We are looking for a class teacher for a fixed-term substitute position in the teaching services from August 11, 2026, to June 6, 2027, at Kellokoski School. The position is placed depending on recruitment at grades 4-6 (approx. 24 teaching hours). We seek a competent class teacher and hope you have good skills and attitude to develop co-teaching. We offer challenging and interesting work in a professional work community and the opportunity to develop your professional skills by organizing regular training on current topics. Kellokoski School is a comprehensive school with about 800 students. In addition to basic education, there are two pre-school groups and the Tuusula Upper Secondary School Kellokoski campus. Kellokoski School is a skilled and development-oriented school. The model of shared leadership and team teaching has been developed for several years. Strong community spirit and focus on well-being are reflected in a cheerful staff, which influences the teaching work. The school's vision of an open and communal school is visible in many ways in everyday life with students, guardians, and local stakeholders. We use the Pro School model to achieve a positive and warm community. Qualifications are determined according to the decree on the qualifications of education personnel (December 14, 1998/986). If qualified applicants are not available, other applicants will also be considered. The selected candidate must present a criminal record extract for working with children and provide an acceptable health statement. Why choose Tuusula municipality as your employer? For us, the art of teaching is that you do not have to face the ever-changing daily life of a teacher alone or with too few resources. We leave space for you to meet students, make pedagogical choices thoughtfully, and develop work together with your colleagues. As part of the Tuusula teaching community, you will have: Resources that are visible in everyday life Our teaching resources are in order. This is evident, for example, in special education, where we always have one broad-based special education teacher per hundred students. Shared hours, material procurement, and flexible solutions support the implementation of teaching in different schools, always considering local needs. Multidisciplinary support teacher work You will not work alone. In addition to the principal and vice-principal, you will have support from special education teachers, school counselors, student welfare services, and close cooperation with youth work and other networks. Co-teaching is a conscious way of teaching in Tuusula. It offers many opportunities for collaboration and sharing responsibilities. Opportunities to develop and learn Tuusula has a positive attitude towards learning and development. For us, development means deepening your teaching skills and developing education in the long term, not constant change or chasing career paths. Above all, we believe that everyday learning happens together. Ideas are listened to and often quickly put into practice. A municipality of a suitable size with an agile and immediate atmosphere Tuusula is a municipality of a suitable size: agile and approachable, yet very close to the capital region. Schools are often central places within their local areas and villages, meaningful for students, families, and the entire community. School leadership and principals are also present and involved in daily life without heavy bureaucracy or middlemen. Salary, working hours, and employment benefits Salary and other terms of employment are determined according to the municipal sector's collective agreement for teaching staff (OVTES) and Tuusula's job complexity assessment. The task-specific salary is €3,059.58/month (including base salary + Tuusula allowance). A four-month probation period applies.
