We are looking for two motivated and positive early childhood education social workers to join our cheerful team. We value solution-oriented, inclusive, sensitive, and strength-based working methods. In the 2026-2027 season, five early childhood education social workers will work in our unit, with whom we will build a shared social worker network. Our pedagogy emphasizes language support, play pedagogy, and social-emotional skills as part of a child's overall well-being. According to the Fiilari survey in autumn 2025, staff are enthusiastic about their work and find it meaningful. The house has clear team structures and strong collegial support, with additional support from the assistant director, special education teacher, and resource teacher. We have received praise for our presence and warm leadership. Our small house operates in traditionally built premises, with each group having its own space, including dining areas. We are proud of our large naturalistic yard. The daycare is located near good transportation links, accessible by train and bus. As a social worker, you plan, evaluate, and implement pedagogical activities in early childhood education, supporting children's individual learning according to Helsinki's early childhood education and pre-primary curriculum, unit plans, and child's Vasu, together with the team and community. You will build your group’s culture and learning environment, support social growth, and promote equality by integrating community, societal, and social pedagogical perspectives into your work. Qualifications: You must have at least a higher education degree in social and health care, including at least 60 ECTS in early childhood education and social pedagogy, or a social worker degree supplemented with these studies. Recognition of foreign qualifications by the Finnish National Agency for Education also fulfills the qualification requirement. You must have good oral and written Finnish language skills. The selected person must present a valid criminal background check for working with children (504/2002). A tuberculosis certificate for working with underage children will be checked (Communicable Diseases Act § 55). When starting a permanent employment as an early childhood education social worker in Helsinki in 2026, a one-time incentive of 2000 euros will be paid.
