Environmental Inspector - Kouvolan kaupunki - Kouvola, Finland

We are seeking an environmental inspector for the city's environmental protection department for the period from July 1, 2026, to December 31, 2027. The environmental inspector handles permit and supervision tasks related to environmental protection authorities according to legislation. The position involves processing applications for stormwater exemption. Responsibilities include making official decisions, conducting inspections in response to appeals, monitoring compliance with issued directives, as well as customer service, advising, informing, and collaborating with other city units (e.g., urban infrastructure and planning, building control) and water utilities. Qualifications include a suitable lower university degree. Experience in municipal environmental protection tasks, an independent and proactive work approach, the ability to prioritize tasks, and good interaction and negotiation skills are valued. Salary and other terms of employment are determined according to KVTES. The selected candidate must present a satisfactory medical certificate of health before taking up the position. A 6-month probationary period applies. The position requires the ability to use a personal car. The workplace is at Kouvola City Hall.
