Sodankylä Municipal welfare and cultural services are advertising the position of school secretary for an open-ended term. The role is currently located at Sodankylä High School and Tähtikunnan School, and the position serves village schools as well. In addition to the school secretary duties, the role includes early childhood education administration responsibilities. Responsibilities include handling school office tasks, preparing matters related to personnel administration and payroll, preparing school financial administration tasks, maintaining school archives, customer service, duties related to pupil administration, practical arrangements for matriculation exams, maintaining and updating school programs, websites and electronic systems, liaising with pupils, guardians, teachers, administration and other stakeholders, early childhood administration duties, collaboration with colleagues and multi-disciplinary teams, participating in a culture of wellbeing and development of the unit, and contributing to development of the unit. Requirements: a vocational college qualification in commercial studies or other suitable qualification. Additionally, experience in office and administrative tasks, knowledge of regulations guiding services and administration, good IT skills and proficiency with existing software, and expertise in Primus system and the national KOSKI centralized service for student rights and completions, and VARDA database in early childhood education. Successful performance requires good cooperation and interpersonal skills, customer service mindset, and ability to work in changing situations. We value initiative, organization, and resilience.
