Personal Assistant 7.8.2026-6.6.2027 - Utsjoen kunta - Utsjoki, Finland

Utsjoki is the northernmost municipality in Finland and the European Union, with approximately 1200 residents. It is known for its stunning natural environment and vibrant Sámi culture. The municipality has new multi-purpose centers in its three village centers, which house schools and, in Utsjoki, also a Sámi high school. We are seeking a personal assistant for the Utsjoki Education Department for the period 7.8.2026-6.6.2027, primarily based at Utsjokisuun School. The employment relationship includes a 4-month probationary period. The work mainly involves guiding a developmentally disabled child in the school environment. Experience working with children with special needs is desired. The qualification requirement is a practical nurse or other suitable education. The assistant is expected to have an active and positive work attitude, as well as a willingness to train and maintain their professional skills. Before starting the position, the selected candidate must submit a medical certificate of health and a criminal background check for working with children (504/2002). Salary is in accordance with KVTES. Utsjoki municipality pays a language bonus for Sámi language skills: 125 €/month for oral skills, and 150 €/month for written and oral skills.
