Job Description
Are you interested in working in early childhood education in a Swedish-language immersion environment? We are looking for a committed early childhood educator for a fixed-term position from August 3, 2026, to December 31, 2026. The immersion program complements preschool education. You are a good team player alongside the preschool teacher. As a childcare worker, you promote the overall well-being, growth, and development of children in the daycare in collaboration with your colleagues and families. You are responsible for possible medication administration for your child group. We give you the opportunity to influence your work, as we encourage activity and new ideas. The qualification requirement for the childcare worker position is a degree in early childhood education (childcare instructor), a social and health care qualification (practical nurse), or an equivalent relevant degree, including or supplemented with sufficiently extensive studies in child care, upbringing, and education, including or supplemented with sufficiently extensive studies in child care, upbringing, and education, as defined by the Government Decree § 3 (1177/2018). Applicants meeting the transitional provisions of the Early Childhood Education Act 540/2018 are also eligible. Salary and employment terms are determined according to the municipal sector's general collective agreement (KVTES). A two-month probationary period applies to this position. The selected candidate must present a criminal record extract as per the Criminal Records Act § 6.2 and a health statement regarding respiratory tuberculosis as per the Communicable Diseases Act § 55. Neidonkallio Daycare Center is located in the center of Kirkkonummi and offers early childhood education. The center organizes Swedish-language immersion. The immersion can start when the child turns 5 years old, and the immersion education continues in the preschool group at Gesterby School. The goal of the immersion is functional bilingualism. The daycare provides a safe, inclusive, and developmental learning environment that encourages play, movement, exploration, and learning. Interviews will be scheduled separately.
