Job Description

We expect you to have skills in guiding students in specific activity areas or experience in other work with people with developmental disabilities. You will assist students in learning social, cognitive, motor, and daily skills, as well as support language and communication training. In addition to the duties of a special education assistant, you will contact disability services and school transportation as needed. We value initiative, teamwork skills, empathy, and the ability to work in changing situations. School name and address: Ruusutorpi School, Leppävaarankatu 24, 02600 Espoo. Working hours: At least 21 hours/week, with a salary of €1420.28/month. Weekly working hours may vary annually based on resources allocated to assistant services. In practice, all special education assistants work 38.25 hours/week (€2587.04). Work and salary payments may be interrupted for up to 10 weeks per year during school breaks. The break period is defined annually. Salary is determined and may change according to the complexity of the task. Shifts vary between 7:30 and 16:30. This position is permanent starting from August 12, 2026. This workplace is accessible. Eligibility requirement: Suitable vocational qualification or equivalent, e.g., practical nurse or developmental disability caregiver. The position requires solid experience working with people with developmental disabilities and good Finnish language skills. The selected candidate must present a criminal record extract as specified in the Criminal Records Act, section 6.2.
