Join a multidisciplinary team working with adolescents exhibiting behavioral issues related to crime and substance abuse! We are seeking a nurse for a fixed-term position. The Toivo service model in Helsinki's child protection services works with children and adolescents under 18 showing signs of crime and substance abuse. The goal is to support their disengagement from criminal and substance abuse cycles, organize multidisciplinary rehabilitation and support, and engage the child/youth and their family in necessary multidisciplinary support. As a nurse in the Toivo model, you will act as a healthcare professional for the child as a client, support and motivate the child and family in accessing care, and coordinate care in collaboration with other healthcare providers. You will conduct initial health assessments and psychosocial interventions. Your tasks include evaluating mental health, substance use, and neuropsychiatric symptoms, and providing expertise in child protection client work and team settings. Additionally, in the care manager model, you will provide guidance, advice, and short-term healthcare interventions before further services are provided. The work involves regular meetings with the nurse at pre-arranged times. The nurse is a member of the child's team throughout the Toivo social work client relationship and may work alongside a social worker or counselor. The work is carried out based on goals set by the social worker, client, and their family. Three nurses work in the Toivo services, which are administratively part of the school health unit but work strongly within three Toivo social work teams. The work is mobile, with a base at the multidisciplinary Toivo team in Herttoniemi. Interviews will be conducted during the application period. Qualifications include a higher education degree in nursing or a previous diploma or specialized nurse qualification with a license to practice as a nurse in Finland. Completion of LOP/LOVe LOP medication license by the end of the trial period is required. A criminal record extract must be presented. Additional requirements include the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, strong interaction skills, resilience in changing situations, self-directed, flexible, and development-oriented work attitude. Experience or knowledge of child protection, psychiatry, or addiction services, familiarity with Helsinki's child protection and mental health and addiction service systems, addiction work skills, and additional training such as cognitive therapy or group, individual, and family therapy are considered advantages.
