General Practitioner for Temporary Position at Kalvola Health Center - Kanta-Hämeen hyvinvointialue - Hämeenlinna, Finland

We are seeking a general practitioner for a temporary position at Kalvola Health Center from September 14, 2026, to February 15, 2027. Kalvola Health Center is a small facility with two doctors, managed by a permanent and experienced medical team. This is an excellent opportunity to familiarize yourself with the diverse work at a small health center during a six-month leave of absence, located near Hämeenlinna and Tampere. The work involves caring for the population alongside an experienced colleague. Tasks include non-urgent and urgent appointment-based consultations, remote contacts, and duties of a doctor in the enhanced service housing upstairs. The work is performed during office hours, with no on-call duties. We offer regular training for doctors, and participation in YEK services is also possible. Support services and a multidisciplinary network are available. Kalvola has laboratory services from FimLab once a week, and other locations provide laboratory services on all weekdays. A physiotherapist works part-time at the health center, and skilled nurses are also available. The patient record system used is LifeCare. Consultation support is provided by psychiatrists, gynecologists, addiction medicine specialists, pediatric neurologists, geriatricians, and pediatricians. Procedures and examinations are carried out at the new Assi Hospital, which also houses inpatient wards. The role can be tailored according to your interests and skills, and your preferences are actively considered. Partial remote work or part-time work can also be arranged. Weekly on-site training sessions are held regularly, and participation in external training is well supported. The qualification requirement is a licensed medical degree in Finland. The current task-specific salary is €7,490 for doctors with less than 3 years of experience, €7,790 for over 3 years, and €8,360 for specialists. In addition to the base salary, experience-based increases of 3% or 8% are paid. The accumulation of vacation days depends on the length of service. Salary and other employment terms are governed by the HYVTES agreement. The trial period is six months. In direct patient and customer work, vaccination against infectious diseases as required by the Infectious Diseases Act §§ 48 and 55, including tuberculosis, is mandatory. The successful candidate must present an acceptable health certificate upon appointment.
