Senior Social Worker, Family Services, Tampere - Pirkanmaan hyvinvointialue

A temporary position for a senior social worker is available in the service needs assessment team from August 1, 2026, to May 31, 2027. We are seeking a person with genuine motivation and interest in supervisory work and a desire to develop their leadership skills. The service needs assessment team handles child protection notifications, service needs assessments, and child protection investigations for families requiring special support. The team consists of six social workers and four coordinators. The senior social worker also supervises a resource team of four employees. The position is based in Ylöjärvi. You will be supported by the team of senior social workers and the service manager. We are looking for someone who: - Can lead relationship-based and client-oriented social work - Can organize team work and ensure quality in client services - Has personnel management skills - Can monitor and report on financial and operational figures - Develops multidisciplinary approaches in your area - Creates a positive and encouraging atmosphere in the team and has good interaction skills with colleagues and supervisors. The qualification requirement is a licensed social worker in Finland. Experience in service needs assessments for families requiring special support, family social work under the Social Welfare Act, child protection, leadership of social work for families, or proficiency in written and spoken Finnish is considered an advantage. A valid B driver's license and access to a car are also advantageous. Work may be performed across the entire Pirkanmaa wellbeing area if necessary. We value good cooperation and negotiation skills for working with various stakeholders. The position is temporary from August 1, 2026, to May 31, 2027, with a probation period of five months. The working hours are 37 hours and 45 minutes per week.
