The Lapland Welfare Area is seeking an Assistant Chief Physician for emergency medical services for a permanent position. The start date is negotiable. As an Assistant Chief Physician, you will be responsible for internal quality management and self-monitoring plans within emergency medical services. Your duties include handling and analyzing adverse events and developing operations based on identified areas for improvement. You will monitor the implementation of national quality indicators and report on overall quality management to the Chief Physician, area manager, and emergency medical services manager. You will play a key role in developing emergency medical skills: planning and implementing training in collaboration with competence management responsible persons and guiding operations from a medical perspective. Additionally, you will train emergency medical service stakeholders. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining medical guidelines and medication plans for emergency medical services and participate in preparing operational instructions. You will actively participate in various expert and cooperation roles: you are a member of the emergency medical services steering group and deputy to the responsible physician, and you will participate in regional and national working groups. You will also be involved in readiness and preparedness planning. Participation in operational activities of emergency medical services is also part of the role. Qualifications include the right to practice medicine as a licensed healthcare professional under the Finnish Act on Healthcare Professionals (559/1994) and a suitable specialist medical degree. Suitable specialist degrees include anesthesiology and intensive care, as well as emergency medicine. Additional training in emergency medicine, a special qualification granted by the Finnish Medical Association, or equivalent international training is appreciated. Salary and employment terms are based on the Medical Contract. The position includes a 6-month probation period. Proficiency in Finnish, both spoken and written, is required. We follow the vaccination requirements of the workplace and infectious disease law. A basic security clearance will be conducted for the selected candidate. The primary workplace is located in Rovaniemi. Partial remote work is possible by agreement.
