Part-time Teacher in Special Education - Hollolan kunta - Hollola, Finland

The municipality of Hollola is seeking a part-time teacher for special education for a permanent position starting August 1, 2026. The position is municipal and will be based at Heinsuon School, which serves grades 5-9, with approximately 600 students, 50 teachers, and 7 teaching assistants. The special education teacher's task is to provide group-specific support measures as defined in section 20 b of the Basic Education Act, and individual support as per section 20 c, subsection 2, in conjunction with other teaching, and partly or entirely in small groups in the subject(s) the student needs. Qualifications for the position are determined according to the decree on qualifications for education personnel no 986/98. The required qualifications include a special class teacher or special education teacher qualification, and qualification as a subject teacher in all subjects taught in basic education, including native language and literature, mathematics, English, and Swedish. For individual support in small groups as per section 20 c, subsection 2, of the Basic Education Act, a person qualifies if they: 1) Have the qualification to teach primary classes as specified in this decree and have completed special education teacher studies; 2) Have completed studies in educational sciences and teacher training as per section 14, subsection 1, of the decree on special education teacher training, and multidisciplinary studies as specified in section 1 a; 3) Have the qualification required of subject teachers in the relevant subject and have completed special education teacher studies. When filling permanent positions, only applicants meeting the qualification requirements at the end of the application period will be considered. If no qualified applicants are available, the position may be filled temporarily from August 1, 2026, to July 31, 2027, with an applicant who does not meet the qualification requirements. Salary and employment conditions are determined according to OVTES. A six-month probationary period applies.
