The Eastern Uusimaa Welfare Area is seeking three FIREFIGHTERS for permanent positions starting on July 15, 2026, or according to agreement. The positions are primarily located at the Eastern Uusimaa Rescue Department, Porvoo Fire Station. We are looking for motivated colleagues for the Eastern Uusimaa Rescue Department. Our operational area includes a nuclear power plant, Finland's largest oil port, the Nordic region's largest chemical industry cluster, and the culturally and historically valuable Old Town of Porvoo. All our main stations maintain maritime readiness. Water diving and UAS operations are centralized at the Porvoo rescue station. Up-to-date equipment and the new rescue stations in Loviisa and Sipoo ensure good conditions for our work in the area. We value further training and support staff specialization, e.g., as water divers, ship captains-mechanics, or lift truck drivers, for which additional compensation is paid based on responsibility. Qualifications required: - Qualification for personnel according to section 6 of the Rescue Act (407/2011) - Valid rescue diving certification for demanding tasks - Firefit index of at least 3.0 - Both values for oxygen uptake capacity must be at level 3, i.e., at least 3.0 l/min and 36.00 ml/kg/min - A test conducted at the rescue institute within the last year for recent graduates - Valid BC-class driving license. Preferred qualifications: - Water diving certification according to instruction 28/2023 for rescue diving and surface rescue operations - Knowledge of the operational area of the Eastern Uusimaa Rescue Department Additionally valued: - Team orientation and willingness to develop - Good physical condition Employment terms are governed by the HYVTES collective agreement. The working hours are 42 hours per week, based on a special permit, following a 24-hour shift cycle. The base salary is €2,502.89 per month, with possible additional pay based on previous experience. In addition to the base salary, a 41% shift allowance is paid to personnel working on a 24-hour cycle. Special responsibility allowances include, for example, water diver (€166.35/month), ship captain-mechanic (€166.35/month), lift truck driver (€55.45/month), UAS remote operator (€55.45/month), and fire chief substitute (€110.90/month). The probation period is six months. Applicants must consent to drug testing and a security clearance process. The appointment is conditional until the selected candidate submits, within one month of starting the position, an acceptable medical certificate and drug test result.
