Special Early Childhood Education Assistant - Mikkelin kaupunki - Mikkeli, Finland

The assistant works as a personal assistant. The assistant guides and supports one or more children who need support, promoting the child's independence and participation during the daycare day. The assistant is not counted as part of the staffing ratio regulated by the Early Childhood Education Act. This means the assistant does not have a pedagogical responsibility and, for example, does not go outside alone with children or take responsibility for group management. The qualification requirement for the position is a basic degree in education and guidance, a basic degree in social and health care, or a comparable relevant qualification. The working hours are on average 38.25 hours per week. Applications are submitted via an electronic application form by the deadline of July 31, 2026, at 14:00. The application must include a PDF copy of the degree certificate. Interviews will be held in week 33. Those invited for an interview must bring original degree and employment certificates. The selected candidate must present a criminal background check (as per section 6, subsection 2 of the Criminal Records Act), specifically a background check for working with children. Appointment is conditional upon the applicant's consent to drug testing. The selected candidate will be subject to a trial period.
