Job Description

The Organ Night and Aria, VocalEspoo, and PianoEspoo festivals have enriched Espoo's cultural offerings for several decades. The Organ Night and Aria festival is held annually, alternating with VocalEspoo and PianoEspoo every other year. The festivals feature artistically high-quality concerts and related events, with performers being top domestic and international artists. Each year, we organize a total of over 30 concerts. As our long-standing Artistic Director moves on to new inspiring roles, we are seeking a new Artistic Director for the festivals in a permanent, full-time position. We offer an energetic, knowledgeable, and interactive workplace at the heart of the classical music scene. As Artistic Director, you will be responsible for the overall management, development, and administration of the festivals. Your responsibilities will also include financial management, marketing coordination, stakeholder engagement, and leading the festival team. You will work under the guidance of the festival boards and in close collaboration with artistic directors and the production team. We expect the future Artistic Director to have leadership experience in the festival or event sector and proven skills in managing an expert organization. You should have experience in managing large-scale projects and excellent financial management skills. You have successfully handled fundraising and are motivated to develop the festival activities in new directions. Your working style is inspiring and goal-oriented, and you have a good understanding of the classical music environment and its specific features. You work fluently on strategic issues as well as practical tasks during the festivals. Resilience under pressure is necessary during the most intensive production weeks. The working hours are on average 37.5 hours per week, but there will be fluctuations, especially during the festivals, so readiness for evening and weekend work is essential. The position requires a suitable university degree and fluent communication skills in Finnish and at least English. The employment begins on September 1, 2026, unless otherwise agreed. For more information about the position, contact CEO Veera Paasi at tel. 050 38 51 623.
