Job Description
We are seeking a psychologist for student welfare services in a permanent position in the Viitasaari and Pihtipudas areas. There is also an option to negotiate part-time work. The psychologist's duties are located in the Viitasaari area (including Haapaniemi, Huopana, and Kymönkoski schools, Viitasaaren lukio, and Poke Vocational College) and Pihtipudas (Putaanvirta and Muurasjärvi schools and Pihtipudas High School). More specific school responsibilities will be defined at the start of the position. The role requires the ability to use a car. As a student welfare psychologist, you will be part of your own educational institution's multidisciplinary team and provide psychological expertise across different educational levels. Your work aims to enhance students' well-being, safety, and a positive learning environment, as well as promote preventive and supportive activities in daily life. Your responsibilities include providing individual support and guidance to students on well-being and learning issues. You will assess learning difficulties and mental health, and plan necessary support measures in collaboration with students, guardians, and teaching staff. The work also involves consulting on children's and adolescents' development and mental health situations. You will participate in multidisciplinary expert team work and develop the community-based student welfare work of the educational institutions. Additionally, you will prepare assessments, recommendations, statements, and other documents needed in student welfare. We offer: - Professional and approachable colleagues, with opportunities to work in pairs and collaborate closely with other psychologists. - Orientation to support a smooth start in your duties. - Collegial guidance, mentoring, and support for early-career psychologists; experienced staff can utilize their expertise and develop their work at individual and community levels. - Opportunities for supervision, collegial consultation, and ongoing professional development through training. - Flexible working arrangements: flexible working hours, partial remote work, and part-time solutions tailored to your individual situation.
