Software Architect

We are seeking an experienced C++/Qt software developer to take technical responsibility for large software systems and to support and guide other developers in their implementation work. You will be part of a motivated and skilled expert community, facing challenging and meaningful development projects. You will have the opportunity to influence significant technical solutions and software architecture. The position requires: a suitable education (at least lower university degree); strong experience in software development with system-level programming languages (e.g., Java, Rust) and particular expertise in C++ and Qt frameworks; strong knowledge of event-driven architectures for asynchronous real-time messaging; practical experience with messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, MQTT, NATS or equivalent; experience documenting software architecture using structured methods, for example the C4 model; experience designing and defining interfaces (OpenAPI/Swagger, Protocol Buffers, JSON schemas); ability and vision to make architecture decisions, justify them to various stakeholders, and guide software developers; excellent communication and collaboration skills in Finnish; good communication and collaboration skills in English. Additional assets: experience with distributed real-time data processing, defense industry experience especially electronic warfare technologies, DevOps maturity, understanding of on-premise and air-gapped environments, Docker container technology, dependency/package management (e.g., Conan), strong Qt desktop application development, ability to perform detailed threat modeling and risk mitigation for defense scenarios, mentoring in secure SDLC practices including code reviews with emphasis on defense-grade quality, NATO compliance and security-critical models, understanding of monitoring and observability in high-security environments. Location: primarily Jyväskylä; Tampere work possible if willing to travel to Jyväskylä several days per month. Employment: permanent, partial remote work possible.
