Job Description
The role of an employment broker is to enhance job seekers' opportunities to find employment by identifying job opportunities and connecting job seekers with employers. The goal is to find solutions for situations where jobs and job seekers do not meet, create new pathways to employment, and strengthen employers' ability to find the necessary workforce. The employment broker is part of the employment area's labor market and employer cooperation team. Responsibilities include: identifying the skills and strengths of job seekers and marketing this expertise, searching for suitable candidates for employers, arranging meetings between parties, and supporting recruitment processes in collaboration with specialists; maintaining and developing the employer network through company visits, acting as an active link between employer cooperation, employment services, and the labor market; participating in the planning and implementation of recruitment events, and organizing meetings that promote direct contact between job seekers and employers; managing communication, monitoring, and development using appropriate information systems, participating in service marketing, collecting information on labor market needs, tracking employment outcomes, and proposing development measures based on practical observations in collaboration with the team. The position requires a suitable vocational qualification, a university of applied sciences degree, or other relevant education. Experience in employer cooperation, recruitment, B2B work, HR services, employment services, or networking is considered an advantage. Pietarsaari region is a strongly bilingual area, so good oral and written skills in Finnish and Swedish are required. Knowledge of English is an advantage. Success in this role requires an active, proactive, and independent work attitude, the ability to build trust-based relationships, and to find solutions in complex situations. Experience in goal-oriented work and strong presentation and communication skills with companies are also valued. Knowledge of the industries and labor needs in the Pietarsaari region, experience working with international workforce, and the ability to coordinate projects or drive development work are considered advantages.
