Job Description

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic early childhood education teacher who is sensitive to children for a permanent position at Kirkkojärvi Daycare Center. During the 2026-2027 operational period, your role will be in a preschool group within the daycare premises. Your team will also include another early childhood education teacher, a child carer, and a support child carer as a pedagogical resource. Kirkkojärvi Daycare Center has 7 children groups. In our unit, we appreciate diversity and focus particularly on language and interaction themes in each children group. Our staff is united by strong professional skills and an understanding of the significance of early childhood education work. You may be a soon-to-be graduate or an experienced professional in the field. Orientation will be tailored to each employee. As an early childhood education teacher, you will act as a team leader and be responsible for the pedagogy of your own children group. Additionally, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, such as our unit’s language and culture teacher and a comprehensive special education teacher. An important part of your work is also participating in the development of the entire unit’s pedagogy in cooperation with other staff. With the support of the mentoring group, you will become familiar with Espoo’s early childhood education and learn to recognize your strengths and skills. At the same time, you will gain elements for your professional growth and work well-being. You will have the opportunity to discuss the joys and challenges of early career with an experienced mentor and also get to know other colleagues who are starting as early childhood education teachers. Working hours: 38 hours 15 minutes/week The position is permanent starting from August 3, 2026, or later in the autumn, by agreement. This workplace is accessible. Qualification requirement: Qualification according to the Finnish Early Childhood Education Act (540/2018). Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in education, including early childhood education teacher training, or a social and health care sector university of applied sciences degree (early childhood education), or an equivalent previous qualification, e.g., kindergarten teacher or social educator (Act 272/2005 and Decree 608/2005). Applicants who are about to graduate in early childhood education are also considered. We value professionalism and good interaction skills. The selected candidate must present a criminal record extract as required by the Criminal Records Act (6.2 §). The Infectious Diseases Act requires those working with preschool children to clarify the risk of tuberculosis transmission. We appreciate development-mindedness and sensitivity.
