Job Description

The Finnish language and literature services of the City of Porvoo are seeking a Finnish language and literature teacher for a fixed-term position from August 10, 2026, to June 5, 2027. The primary placement is at Pääskytien School. At Pääskytien School, education is provided for grades 7-9. The school is located on the western shore of Porvoo, amidst farmland scenery. Approximately 600 students attend the school, and about 70 adults work with them daily. The school's operating principle is to provide quality education, respect individual differences, and operate in a modern and safe learning environment. Pääskytien School offers specialized physical education. The school leadership team includes the principal, deputy principal, and two assistant principals. Additionally, the entire staff actively participates in school development. The substitute position for Finnish language and literature will be at Pääskytien School for grades 7-9. Qualifications are determined according to the decree on qualification requirements for education personnel (986/1998). In the absence of qualified applicants, non-qualified applicants will also be considered. Original qualification certificates must be presented during the interview if applicable. Salary is determined according to the municipal collective agreement for the education sector. The selected candidate must present a criminal record extract as required by law (504/2002) concerning working with children. The trial period is half the duration of the employment.
