Job Description
Salla Wilderness Park is looking for a head chef to develop our kitchen operations and handle daily kitchen work as part of a small and close-knit team. Salla Wilderness Park is a tourism and activity service company offering accommodation, activities, and restaurant services to domestic and international travelers year-round. Our food services are an important part of the customer experience – we provide breakfast, lunch, dinner, as well as meals for excursions and adventure programs, including traditional Lapland dinners in the 50-seat Tähtitaivaskota. Our kitchen philosophy is straightforward: uncomplicated, high-quality, and locally based food. Responsibilities As head chef, you will be responsible for the daily operations of the kitchen together with the rest of the team. The work includes organizing and developing the kitchen as well as practical chef duties. Tasks include, for example: - Planning menus in collaboration with the company management - Scheduling kitchen shifts - Placing orders and managing inventory - Ensuring compliance with food safety regulations - Organizing and guiding the kitchen team - Developing kitchen operations and offerings During the high season, your team will include three cooks and a baker. During the summer season, operations run with a smaller team. Requirements - Experience as a chef - Experience in supervisory roles - Ability to work independently and responsibly - Good teamwork and organizational skills - Basic IT skills - Food safety certificate We especially value interest in developing operations and the desire to create high-quality dining experiences for customers in Lapland.
