We are currently seeking a Head Nurse for a permanent position in the hospital services of the Western Uusimaa region, at Espoo Hospital, Ward 1. Ward 1 specializes in wound care, psychogeriatric care, and rehabilitation. Additionally, we treat general geriatric patients who require follow-up care and rehabilitation after a specialized medical treatment period. The ward has 45 beds divided into three small groups of 15 patients each. The working environment is modern, comfortable, and bright, and the hospital was opened in 2017. The role of Head Nurse is diverse and independent. In this position, you will have the opportunity to develop hospital services together with our skilled professionals and various stakeholders. As Head Nurse, you will serve as a supervisor alongside your colleague, the unit service manager, who acts as a frontline supervisor for the care and therapy staff. Together with the service manager, you will be responsible for the daily management of the ward. The care and therapy staff on Ward 1 total 48 members. The Head Nurse’s responsibilities include personnel competence development and patient safety. You will be responsible for ensuring that the unit’s operations meet quality and financial goals, and for service development in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, your supervisor, and the unit’s senior physician. We are looking for a flexible team player who values patient-centered care and smooth collaboration with their team and external partners in specialized care. You can see broader customer issues but also handle detailed planning and implementation tasks carefully.
