Assist Dog - Assistenthund ry is a nationwide organization founded in 1996 for users of assistance dogs. The main tasks of the organization are advocacy work, peer support, and enabling official assistance dog users to self-train with support in an internationally auditable (ADI) supported self-training program. We are currently seeking a development and funding manager to enhance our funding base and core activities, while also being an important part of the daily life of assistance dog users with disabilities. We are looking for an empathetic and efficient professional with experience working with people with disabilities. You should have proven success in managing various funding applications and ideas for developing fundraising activities. Experience with dogs is not necessary; interest in building training pathways, funding, and fundraising is more important. Your main responsibilities include: Developing and stabilizing the funding base; Implementing strategic directives in close cooperation with the board (especially coordinating the renewal of the organization’s supported self-training activities); Coordinating the organization’s daily operations and acting as a supervisor for staff; Participating in the organization’s daily activities and development across all areas. Work is primarily remote (including occasional meetings and travel), as the organization does not have dedicated premises. We require: A relevant higher education degree (e.g., in organizational or social services); Financial and strategic skills; Ability to implement reforms and manage large entities; Experience in supervisory roles and administrative work; Excellent oral and written Finnish skills and fluent English skills; Ability to work independently and self-directed, and to operate constructively amidst change; Proficiency in Microsoft 365 environment, ability to learn new systems, and understanding of information management principles. Comfortable communicating via remote tools such as Teams. Additional valued skills: Excellent communication and interaction skills, and ability to network; Proven success in securing funding and developing fundraising activities; Pedagogical understanding, experience in building online courses, and designing learning pathways; Dog experience and/or experience with working dogs; Experience with organizations and volunteer work; Experience working with various special groups; Fluent Swedish skills. The working time is 60% of full-time (22.5 hours/week), with salary based on the Social Sector Organizations’ Collective Agreement (TES) level 7. Monthly salary is €2,250 + possible experience bonus and activity benefit (Epassi). The position begins on August 1st or as agreed. It is a fixed-term contract until December 31, 2027, with a 6-month probation period. Due to the nature of the organization and volunteer work, the role may include evening and weekend work and travel.
