Job Description
Kinnula Municipality is seeking a permanent Early Childhood Education Director. As the director, you will be responsible for the pedagogical, personnel, financial, and operational management of the municipality's early childhood education. The role offers an opportunity to influence the development of early childhood education, staff well-being, and children's daily life in a small, agile, and collaborative environment. Decision-making is close to the community, cooperation between different actors is smooth, and the impact of your work is quickly visible in practice. Kinnula Municipality seeks a permanent Early Childhood Education Director to oversee the management, development, and daily operations of early childhood education. The director acts as the supervisor and manager of early childhood education and the head of a daycare center. The role includes pedagogical leadership, planning, organizing, evaluating, and developing activities in accordance with national early childhood education guidelines. The director is also responsible for personnel, financial, and administrative matters related to early childhood education. The work may include occasional work with children’s groups, pedagogical guidance for staff, and development of activities. This position offers a chance to combine leadership, pedagogical development, and practical early childhood education work into a comprehensive role. Approximately half of the work involves administrative tasks, and the other half involves guiding staff and developing activities. What do we expect from you? The candidate must have the qualification required by the Early Childhood Education Act for leadership roles in early childhood education. Success in this role requires strong expertise in education, child development, learning, and early pedagogy. Additionally valued skills include: - a developmental and solution-oriented approach - good cooperation and communication skills - experience in personnel and financial management - experience in supervisory or leadership roles - good digital skills and familiarity with information systems. The salary of the Early Childhood Education Director is determined according to the municipality’s salary system based on overall responsibility, competence, and experience. The position is outside the salary grid. Other terms of employment are governed by KVTES. The selected candidate must provide a medical certificate of health, original degree and study certificates, and a criminal record extract related to work with children, in accordance with law 504/2002, before the appointment is confirmed. The position is subject to a six (6) month probationary period.
