Registered Nurse, Palliative Care Department, Salo - Varsinais-Suomen hyvinvointialue - Salo, Finland

In the palliative care department in Salo, you will be involved in ensuring respectful and individualized end-of-life care for patients as part of a multidisciplinary team. Your tasks You will work in the palliative care department in Salo, which provides 24-hour nursing care and assistance mainly for patients in palliative and terminal stages. Additionally, you will care for a diverse range of patients from different specialties who require hospitalization or further rehabilitation. Your work involves providing comprehensive, individualized care based on the patient's needs and actively participating in symptom management, sometimes in acute situations. The job requires good manual skills and close collaboration within a multidisciplinary work community. The work is in three shifts. Our department uses a communal shift planning system, giving you good opportunities to influence your work schedule. What we expect from you We expect good communication skills, a respectful attitude towards patients in the end-of-life stage, and strong empathy. The role requires good Finnish language skills. We also hope you are prepared for active and sometimes acute symptom management work and are committed to providing high-quality care for palliative and terminal patients. The job requires a valid medication administration license (LOVe) or completion of it immediately at the start of employment. Eligibility is based on the Finnish Act on Healthcare Professionals (559/1994). If qualified applicants are not available, we will also consider nursing students.
