We are seeking a practical nurse for a fixed-term position at the residential service unit Sateenkaari in Alajärvi from August 24, 2026, to February 23, 2027. Sateenkaari offers 24/7 communal living and short-term care for adults with intellectual disabilities. The facility has a total of 13 apartments for full-time residents, with one apartment designated for short-term care periods. There are six apartments for communal living. Our goal is to provide residents with a safe daily life. An important part of our operations is good care and support for residents, customer orientation, individuality, and promoting residents' self-determination and participation. The resident is at the center of our activities. We are looking for a practical nurse to do meaningful and valuable work with people with intellectual disabilities. The practical nurse's duties include assisting, guiding, supporting, and caring for the unit's residents in their daily routines. We offer diverse work where you can utilize your strengths. Flexibility, initiative, and creativity are valued. The practical nurse work involves three-shift work. Qualifications include a social and health care basic qualification, a practical nurse qualification (valid under Law 559/1994 or 817/2015). Registration with the National Supervisory Authority for Welfare and Health (Valvira) as a licensed social and health care professional, a valid LOVe medication authorization, and proficiency in Finnish are required. A hygiene passport is considered an advantage. Employment terms and salary are based on the SOTE agreement, with a starting salary of €2,644.50 per month. A trial period applies. A health certificate and a criminal background check under Law 741/2023 § 28 must be presented before starting. A drug test may be required. HYVAEP is a smoke-free workplace. The position requires vaccination against infectious diseases as per Section 48 of the Infectious Diseases Act and a tuberculosis certificate as per Section 55.
