Registered Nurse or Mental Health Nurse for Geropsychiatry - HUS diagnostiikkakeskus - Helsinki, Finland

We are seeking a mental health nurse or registered nurse for a vacation substitute position from August 3 to September 20, 2026, for the Centralized Services line at the Psychiatric Center, Ward P2. Our ward specializes in the research and treatment of psychotic illnesses. Patients admitted to our ward via physician referral are at least 65 years old, and our multidisciplinary team possesses expertise in both geropsychiatry and somatic care. Some of our patients receive assistance via a remote ward. Nursing work in the field of geropsychiatry is diverse and interesting. Approximately 20 nursing professionals with strong expertise in psychiatric and somatic nursing work on our ward. The work is based on a three-shift rotation. A background working with elderly patients provides a good foundation for the role, but the most important quality is the desire to meet patients and their loved ones equitably. Eligibility requirements Registered Nurse: Licensed registered nurse. Mental Health Nurse: Degree as a mental health nurse or practical nurse, and registration in the Social and Health Care Professionals Register (JulkiTerhikki). The selected candidate must present a criminal record extract as required by Section 28 of the Act on the Supervision of Social Welfare and Health Care. We require vaccination protection in accordance with the Communicable Diseases Act for those working in client and patient areas, and a health certificate regarding pulmonary tuberculosis for those working in healthcare units.
