We are now hiring 1-2 procurement specialists for permanent positions at Helsinki City Construction Services, in the Technical Support Services of the City Infrastructure Department. The City Infrastructure Department (KIR) consists of three units: Construction Services, Technical Support, and Expert Services. Our construction team handles the entire infrastructure construction service package—streets, parks, and municipal engineering. Our builders execute challenging structures professionally and ensure smooth urban life around construction sites. What will you do? As a procurement specialist, you will be responsible for planning, tendering, and contract management of the department’s procurements in accordance with public procurement laws and Helsinki City guidelines. You will play a central role in implementing infrastructure construction procurements in collaboration with production, cost calculation, and other stakeholders. Your tasks include preparing and executing tenders (e.g., in Cloudia/Ahjo environment), ensuring contract compliance and managing procurement risks, working closely with construction and expert services, developing procurement practices, and maintaining up-to-date procurement progress reports. This is an independent expert role directly influencing the department’s operational smoothness, risk management, and financial efficiency. Who are you? You have a suitable higher education degree (e.g., AMK engineer or other technical-economic education) or equivalent practical experience. You possess strong practical knowledge of procurement implementation and contract management. Additionally, you are familiar with procurement legislation, can manage projects independently, work systematically, handle deadlines, collaborate effectively, and communicate clearly. Your advantage is knowledge of infrastructure or public procurement, experience in project business or construction environments, and system skills (e.g., Cloudia, Ahjo, Profio). What do we offer?
