Espoonlahti School is a middle school in Espoo renovated in 2013. We operate in the same premises as Espoonlahti High School, Jyllan. Our modern classrooms in all subjects and the workspaces available to teachers create new and up-to-date conditions for versatile and high-quality teaching and learning. The school has approximately 430 students and 42 teachers. We offer advanced instruction in mathematics and natural sciences, as well as Swedish language immersion. Teacher qualifications are determined according to the decree on the qualifications of education personnel no 986/98. According to section 9 of the decree, a teacher providing basic education must have excellent oral and written skills in Finnish. We also consider non-qualified applicants for fixed-term positions. The selected candidate must present a criminal record extract as required by the Criminal Records Act section 6.2. We value work experience in student guidance at basic education level, a supportive and solution-oriented approach that promotes young people's agency, and a development-oriented attitude. Successful performance in the role requires warmth, the ability to recognize different support needs of young people, experience in network and small group work, and excellent communication skills.
