The goal of the position is to promote the protection and restoration of wetlands in the South Ostrobothnia Regional Centre area in connection with the HELMI habitat environment program. The Senior Inspector's tasks include implementing conservation sites offered by landowners, including assessing natural values and property worth, negotiating with landowners, and defining the area's boundaries and necessary protection regulations. The role may also involve presenting decisions on establishing private protected areas, as well as preparing and signing sale and exchange documents. The job also includes targeted marketing related to wetland protection, organizing public events in collaboration with other actors, and advising landowners on conservation issues. Additionally, the position involves monitoring and reporting on implementation, as well as preparing and serving as secretary for the regional METSO-HELMI cooperation group meetings. The tasks include identifying, inventorying, and planning restoration of suitable wetland sites, as well as tendering for contractors, including procurement tasks, and preparing support applications in accordance with conservation laws. The position is based in Vaasa, Kokkola, or Seinäjoki.
