Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior System Safety Engineer for a high-profile, 12-month contract supporting critical aerospace/defence engineering programmes. This role offers excellent long-term stability and a modern hybrid working model, requiring just one day per week at either our Bristol or Yeovil facility. As a pivotal member of the engineering assurance team, you will drive safety compliance, develop robust safety arguments, and ensure that complex systems satisfy rigorous regulatory and military standards. Key responsibilities include leading safety case development, performing risk management tasks such as hazard identification and hazard analysis, ensuring compliance with military safety standards, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Candidates must have deep knowledge of Defence Standard 00-056, proven safety case management experience, and hands-on safety risk assessment skills. BPSS clearance is required or must be achievable rapidly. The role is based in Bristol, UK, with hybrid working. Salary: £60-£70 per hour.
