Temporary Special Class Teacher / Isolahden School - Vaasan kaupunki - Vaasa, Finland

We are seeking a special class teacher for the period from August 10, 2026, to July 31, 2027, at Isolahden School. The task is to teach a special support class of 10 students. The grade level is 4-5. Teaching hours are 22-25 hours per week. The teaching obligation is 22 weeks. Isolahden School is a school in Vaasa, offering both class-based special education and general education. Special education classes (er) are for grades 1-6. Intensive support classes (ver) are for grades 1-9. General education is for grades 1-6. The school has a long tradition of ver classes and several years of experience with er classes. Multiculturalism and flexible teaching arrangements are part of our daily life. The school’s popular yard area serves residents in their free time, for example, with a synthetic turf field. Qualifications are in accordance with regulation 986/1998. Qualifications include the ability to teach in a special class as a support measure under section 20 c, paragraph 2 of the Basic Education Act, in a special class. In the absence of qualified applicants, the position may be filled temporarily with an unqualified candidate. Proficiency in Finnish is required. Experience as a special class teacher is considered an advantage. Initiative, teamwork skills, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing tasks are valued.
