Construction Site Safety Engineer - Työmarkkinatori - Kouvola, Finland

We are seeking an experienced Construction Site Safety Engineer to join our Kouvola project, work location in Kouvola. In this role, you will work closely with the site safety manager and responsible for ensuring occupational health and safety compliance on construction sites in Kouvola. The role ensures that all site activities comply with Finnish Occupational Safety and Health legislations, including the Occupational Safety and Health Act (738/2002) and Government Decree on Safety in Construction Work (205/2009). The role promotes a strong safety culture and works closely with the safety manager, site management, contractors, and authorities to prevent accidents and occupational health risks. Key Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with Finnish occupational safety legislation, developing and maintaining site-specific safety plans, conducting safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments, reviewing method statements and permits, organizing safety training, investigating accidents, monitoring safety KPIs, maintaining safety documentation, and promoting a proactive safety culture. Qualifications include a degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, Työturvallisuuskortti, hot work permit, Finnish-recognized safety certification, minimum 3-5 years experience in construction safety in Finland, strong knowledge of Finnish safety regulations, and fluency in Finnish and English. The role is site-based in active construction environments, may require extended hours, and use of PPE. Start date: as soon as possible.
