Job Description
The Vice Rector for Research at Tampere University is responsible for leading the university's research activities and their strategic development on national and international levels. The role involves ensuring high research quality, supporting strategic goals, collaborating with the rector and other vice rectors, monitoring international research trends and national science policy, participating in leadership activities, leading internal research councils, representing the university in research networks, and managing a full-time position from 1.1.2027 to 31.12.2031 in Tampere. The candidate must hold a doctoral degree and professorship, have extensive experience in academic environments, knowledge of research funding and science policy, proven leadership in research organizations, understanding of research infrastructures and ecosystems, international research experience, and excellent Finnish and English skills.
